Sodium pyrophosphate, which can be heated by pyrolysis of sodium bisulfate, produces three sulfur oxides, which are then reacted with sodium sulfate from decomposition. It can be used to dissolve insoluble metal oxides because it is dissolved with metal oxides and can be soluble in sulfate.
